Common Questions
- What data does Route Pacer store from Strava?
- A computed pace profile (a small set of numbers), plus derived per-activity training summaries (grade/pace/heart-rate analysis for your recent runs) used to build and refresh it. We do not store raw activity files, GPS tracks, or route coordinates from Strava — those are processed and discarded.
- Why do some races show an interactive route map and others don't?
- Races in our course library show a route map because the course is an official, public race route we host. When you upload your own GPX/FIT/TCX file we don't store the route itself — only a computed pace profile and terrain segments — so personal uploads can't show a map. Are you a race director? Add your race to give every runner an interactive course map.
- Can I use Route Pacer without Strava?
- Yes. You can upload GPX/FIT/TCX training files directly, or enter a recent run time and distance manually.
- How accurate are the predictions?
- Predictions are estimates based on your training data and course terrain. They are not a substitute for personalized coaching advice. See our Science page for details on the methodology.
